I think Michael (Utrecht) may be right - everyone is on holiday...

I think he was referring to us TP Admin, and yes, we were actually both away this weekend :)

Quoting Utrecht

Good news!
I watched an hour ago or so: zero impressions. Came back from lunch: 23!...

Well, in that case it does appear to be the case that Google has a problem with two publisher id's on one page and my 'fix' resolves that. That's a direct contradiction to what they've stated before, so

Let's wait 24 hours and see if it holds and then I can check with Peter on how we proceed. In any case, it's great to see something happen at least!!

Sorry, I just edited my post with another question, to see if I understand it as well. I am plain stupid regarding computers and stuff. And probably a dozen or jobs more

I actually ment 'where is everyone': it seems like many people have vanished here;)

Although i can't prove it, I seriously have doubt about not having affects on clicks. Although sometimes it seems that with one or a few clicks it proves that it might not affect it, I seriously see differences for sure. No lies about that.

The click through rates are really tough to measure at small numbers though. Even with 40 000 impressions a day, our click through rates change a lot. As science would indicate it's impossible to have 3 clicks if the ads aren't showing, that seems to mean the clicks are registering without the impressions. Then again, that could just be google reporting incorrectly there too.... who really knows!?!

Also about the fix: you said you removed TP adsense blocks on wiki pages. I am not sure I get it: impressions are up now, but if you have no adsense blocks, no one can click it?

If no adsense blocks were showing, you couldn't get impressions (that's just a page load). It has to do with the adsense block that you see in the left hand navigation, for example here on the forum pages. That used to also be showing on the wiki pages and had a different publisher id. That's now gone, meaning your publisher id shows first on the page. It seems that this is what was causing the reporting issue, based only on deduction.

I actually made another change too, but I'll keep that secret until we see how the first 24-48 hours have gone :)

Sam, whatever you've 'fixed' today, appears to be helping.

Yesterday: 0 imp, 2 clicks
Today (as at 1310 GMT): 21 imp, 1 click

Yep, indeed, and before I forget: many thanks.

About the adsense blocks. The one on the right is now the only one there. I noticed that when an article has quick facts the ads are much more difficult to see compared to articles without quick facts.

And specifically articles with quick facts are usually more popular, like countries, capital cities, regions etc. While the ones without quick facts are usually about small towns and specific sights.

Maybe something coulde be done with the quickfacts versus adsense blocks: the quickfacts are exactly in between the top and bottom section of the ads and the letters are smaller.

Just an idea, hope I hear about your thoughts about it.

The font on the ones without quick facts are actually buggered up, so they'll be going to the nicer smaller size. Don't really want to do anything in terms of box size until a new design is being rolled out, since that will change it all anyway.

O no, no more changes please! I can't handle it. I am conservative!;)
