Have you seen this thread?

You might also want to post this question in the Asia forum and use the "Ask the travel helpers" option for Pakistan, this way you'll get more specific replies.

but on the other hand people are saying you have to pay the value of the car in custom fee

I am just guessing here, but I think this applies to people who have Pakistani passports or who plan to live in Pakistan. Then their car is not in transit, it is considered an import and thus they have to pay custom fees. A way around this can be the carnet de passage.

You'll get more specific advice from the Pakistani embassy or maybe from Pakistanis who are living in the UK.

Quoting hathan

Come on people has no 1 got any answers for me......

Wow, speaking of not being thankful here!
What do you think t_maia produced.

Also be more patient or check lonely planet forum, quicker responses to odd questions.

There is actually just one route which avoids hassle at 'stan-countries' regarding visas etc. and that's through Turkey and Iran, maybe with a detour via Georgia and Azerbaijan, but somehow I am guessing you just want to speed through

If I see all your other thread questions, I almost feel sorry for you, as you basically don't want to do this, you only see troubles and your sound extremely insecure regarding things. Are you a traveller or going back to live in Pakistan. Did'nt mention that did you?

  • wonders why people are in a hurry on a forum while they are going to make week long journeys*

sorry im actually very thank full to you and to other members....

i only said what i said is because their seems to be alot of people who have made plans/traveld overland....and i havent had much feedback or positive info.........no 1 seems to know if their is custom on vehicle taken from europe over to pakistan overland.......some are saying their is and some are saying they have done this trip many times and they never paid a penny let alone custom.......

i just want positive info,so far not even the embassy is much help.....All the Embassy said is you will need a passage de carnet, which is 5 times the price of the vehicle, where as other people are saying thats this countrys way of taking money off you, and the people traveld in the 80's, 90's didnt no a passage de carnet existed........On the other hand the Embassy are saying you dont need to purchase a passage de carnet but you will have to pay custom fee into the country you travelling to, which they dont no how much.....Embassy dosnt no how much the fee is thats a joke.....

If their is anyone who has done this journey could they please give some positive info....

i dont want to set off and then get stuck with things i didnt expect......

Thank you
