Turkey golden tours

Hi everyone,

I'm a woman, travelling solo, planning a trip to Turkey on the end of August and would like to know if anyone have ever heard of "Turkey Golden Tours". I got their link from the Cordial House hostel in Istanbul, for a 16-day bus tour around Turkey.
It seems to be very well organized, but, still, I would like to know if anyone has actually used their services.
Any opinions on this?

I returned from a trip to Turkey two months back. Though i did not take any tours and travelled on my own, it appeared to me that the tourist agencies there were quite organised !! 16 day bus tour seems to be quite long and hectic, why dont u think of doing it on ur own? Turkey is pretty much organised and with a good and efficient bus service, it is doable at one's own pace.

Agree with Arif, guided tours are completely unnecessary in Turkey. You can do it on your own just as well. (I am a woman, travelling solo and I have been to Turkey and many other Middle Eastern countries.) Just keep your wits about you and remember that Turkey is a muslim country. You might want to rethink the miniskirt and the thin sexy top where people can see your bra through. Keep your knees and shoulders covered and you'll be fine.

Personally I would prefer to go to Turkey in September and not in August because it is less hot and crowded then.

I hope your stay in Turkey will be perfect. I personally dont have any idea about golden tour. but you dont have tour knowledge of your country if you live there, you know.

I agree with maia( also about september) and arif about solo tours. Beacuse you will have the oppurtunity to stay as long as you like if you choose some place over another.

there are 2 big bus terminals in istanbul where you can find dozens of choices to take a bus to any 82 city in Turkey. I think the longest distance from İstanbul is Hakkari and it takes around 2 days on bus. but that place is not touristic so you dont need to bother about the time. some bus trips are nearly same price with filights so check local airway companies before you buy your ticket. atlas, pegasus, onur and anadolujet have internal flights, nilüfer, varan, ulusoy are the best bus lines also.

You can organize the bus trip like this if you like:

Istanbul-Izmir( Ephesus)-Denizli( pamukkale) -Mugla( bodrum, fethiye etc.)-Antalya ( sea sun history, lots of places)-

then you can go straightly to nevşehir ( cappadoccia) and to istanbul to end your tour.

or you can go on to the south east to see mardin-antep-diyarbakır-adıyaman- and then to nevşehir.

in both alternatives you can only see the half of Turkey. for a proper look you should stay araound 2 months in Turkey. but 16 days is good for a start.

ps: about the outfit thing. unless you go to far eastern parts of Turkey ( where I mentioned in second tour alternative) you can wear what ever you like witout getting any offensive looks. even if you go there you should wear only proper things as maia mentioned.
