hey there,i am considering moving to Oslo around december this year,i have done a little research into it but basically just wanted some personal 'inside info' from anyone that has been there over the winter and their thoughts.
I know it is a very beautiful place but what is it like for getting work(possibly bar work) or accommodation around that time of year? and was the lack of sunlight (i read 6 hrs)in the winter months bearable? and i've heard it's very expensive?
any info or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys, cheers!!

what kind of accomodation where you thinking of? Hotels are rearly full in Oslo, "Perminalen" is a real cheap hostel like option, renting an appartment is really expensive, somewhere above 6000kr a month (havent done much research on that one, but thats what I´m betting). many foreigners come to Oslo for work, mostly polish or swedes, and I see no reason for why you shouldnt be able to do the same. (the waitresses and barkeepers are mostly swedes in Oslo)

The sunlight is no problem, further north the sun doesnt rise at all, but in Oslo you´ll get to see the sun all year. it´s not really particularly cold either, for those experiences you´ll need to go further north!

good luck!
