I'm hungry..... As usual I can't stop thinking about food. Wondering what everyones else is having for dinner tonight.

I'm going to cobble something together to use up stuff in the fridge before it goes bad.... Maybe smoked mackerel with new potatoes and salad.

What about you?

It's only 10:30 in the morning... I'm still digesting toast! But I'd love to get Neal to cook up some of his shrimp/BBQ cod curry. It's his own invention, and very delish.

What I'd like for lunch, though, is a long, long, long NAP!

Don't know what we're actually having for dinner. We went shopping (food and otherwise) on the weekend, so the fridge is full. We also got a hightech microcontroller rice cooker/steamer so we'll probably try that out. We're going for a movie tonight though and will have to see how much energy we have to cook.

Oh Q, I am sooooo disappointed in you!!! (Not Simone. She's German. You're not.) I thought the only way rice was to be cooked/steamed was in a traditional bamboo steamer. You're parents must be so disappointed... A nice Chinese boy, like yourself, using a "hightech microcontroller rice cooker/steamer" to cook/steam rice. For shame!

Making something with chicken boobs and some corn that needs to be taken off the cob before it rebels.

Reminds me of an old episode of Dinosaurs where the food "goes" bad and rebels.

General Chow: Old food never dies, it just goes bad.

Charlene Sinclair: I'm sorry about your friend, the lettuce?
General Chow: He was no lettuce, he was a head of cabbage.

You thought wrong, oh dear Isa ! The ONLY proper way to cook rice is in a Wok on a woodfired stove ! Like my grandma used to make.

In the modern age, digital technology has made it into every aspect of Chinese life. Including, of course, electric rice cookers that are found in EVERY Chinese home. There is, infact, nothing more Chinese than an electric rice cooker.

Sounds a lot like something we make at home all the time.

Probably pasta with chopped tomatoes and mixed beans - quick and easy to do after work.

I defrosted some boneless pork chops, microwaved a new potato and fried up the pork and made a thin gravy to go over all. As an appetizer I made garlic cheese bread from a baguette to go with my iced tea.

This was a bad day to ask (I rarely cook meat at all!)

Glass noodles yesterday, with chicken and thai veggie mix, face turned Costed a lot of beers afterwards...

The good thing is: there is some leftover for either me or my g/f this night. So I think I will buy here flowers, so I can have that meal

With the price of the flowers, you could get a nice meal in a restaurant ;)
