Hello,

I am a 20 y/o college student who is wanting to get a taste of SA for spring break this year. I am looking for advice on where would be the best place to go where I can see the most and do the most. I am mostly looking for a plan where I can see more than one city and really get to experience a lot of different things. I am not looking to do a big hiking camping trip but one in which I can be in a city or two for a few days then go out into the jungle and see the Amazon or something. Since I don't have a lot of background knowledge of SA I would appreciate some advice. Thanks All

I'd stick to central America if I were you. A week is really no time at all, and the things you seem to be interested in can be found in CA, only much closer together. Plus, you are somewhat less of a burden on the environment that way.

I am not sure where you are from, but if you have the chance there are direct flights from Miami to Manaus in the centre of the Brazilian Amazon.
Manaus is ok for a day or so and from there you can do jungle trips or spend a day at a nearby riverbeach!
Ok for a week, but avoid wanting to see and do too much.
This is a great place for a week though!

camping? Camping is DANGEROUS in Brasil and I dont mean from animals. 1 week isnt enough. I would also reccommend central america ( panama and costa rica) and its cheaper. Brasil is the most expensive country in south america (exchange s getting worse for foreigners) plus flying times. In the Amazon, you need a tour and thats expensive!! You CANNOT go by yourself

True! Go to CA! I think Costa Rica is no option, you need at least two weeks there! But probably Panama is a good option for a week! I am not sure about Nicaragua, I only went there 1 weekend.
