I watched this wonderful 2008 documentary last night on American Public TV (PBS) - thought others might like to see one of the more interesting travel expeditions ever filmed. I believe it's available on DVD for purchase. I was especially interested to see the section in NW China - same spot where the government is now causing so many problems with ethnic minorities.

The film concludes with entry to Iran after many months of visa negotiations.

I thought it extremely interesting.

Johnny,
I am sorry I missed it. I will look for it on Las Vegas PBS. I doubt I will ever get to walk where Marco Polo did, so watching the film might be as close as I get.

Just the kind of thing I love to watch - thanks for the recommendation. Hopefully I'll be able to get hold of it.

I found a review of it. Very interesting. Some of those places haven't modernized very much from the time of Marco Polo. Would love to see it as well.
