Which city in Europe (which has Ryanair or another budget carrier flying to) would be the cheapest to fly to Longyearbyen?

What are the cheapest airlines (if any cheaper ones exist) that have flights to the Spitsbergen part of Norway from anywhere in Europe?

Afaik, only SAS flies to Spitsbergen (from Oslo and Tromso). Given how expensive they are, it's probably best to find a cheap way of getting to Tromso. Which I should add is rather difficult. My colleague is going next month, she decided to take overland transport via Sweden (train, last bit by bus). Turned out cheaper than flying, in her case.

You could check the Lonyearbyen Airport wiki page which only adds Norwegian Air Shuttle on top of SAS. That's a lowcostairline so you might be able to fly cheaply with them.

Cheers!
Michael.

edit: just checked norwegian air shuttle, didn't see longyearbyen though
