Only four days to my great trip.

my last problem (that i know of) is how to travel? would it be more of a "trip" travelling by buss and train from Rio de Janeiro(Brasil) to San Joaquin (Bolivia) or should I just fly? would a trip with the "death train" be a nice experience? and how big is the price difference?

would anyone have a link to a big bus company in Brasil, that might have some routes in this area, or a link to a flight company?

Availability of online information about bus transport is a bit of a problem in South America. Your route would go through Campo Grande; go to a Rio bus terminal, inquire about busses going there, and ask how to continue afterwards. It's not that difficult.

As to flying: GOL used to operate a service between Sao Paulo and Santa Cruz which may be worth looking into. If it doesn't exist anymore, I think that taking busses is definitely going to be cheaper.

If anyone are still curious about this thread.

Buses leaves daily from Rio De Janeiro and Sao Paolo, from Rio they leave at 11am. they cost 190Reales wich is cheaper than flying, the bus takes 23 h. and takes you to the Campo Grande wich is real close to the pantanal from there travel to corumba, and then you are at the border and can take the "death train" into Santa Cruz

:)
