Help! How to travel Montpellier to Rome

Dear everybody!

I will shortly be moving to Montpellier in September, however my boyfriend lives in Rome and so far I cannot work out how I can get to Rome! - via train/aeroplane as I don't have a car! Any ideas?

Any help will be MUCH appreciated, thank you in advance!

For travelling by train, you can just fill in Montpellier and Rome, into the website of Deutsche Bahn.. Which is a helpful tool for traintravellers in Europe anyhow as it covers not only Germany.

When travelling by air, you probably need to transfer first to Marseille or Nice airport. On Edreams some flights show up. (BA from Marseille, but from Nice it´s cheaper. The cheapest mentioned lowcost, but I can´t see which company it is (At least not Ryanair or Easyjet, as I can´t find flights from Nice to Rome on their websites.
