Ok, I am about to graduate college in the US in a few months with a double major in Finance and Business Administration. I have also studied some in the areas of Management, Real Estate, and some Marketing. With the current job outlook in the US right now, I have broadened my horizons to other countries as well (my love for travel helped too). I have always liked Australia, particularly Sydney and Melbourne, and am looking to work in a city (where most business and finance related careers are found).

So basically I am just putting my situation out there to see if any of you can give me any advice on whether careers in these fields are or aren't prevalently available, or if they do or don't pay as well as other countries, what living in Sydney or Melbourne is like, etc. I think it sums it up well by saying any input on any of these topics or just my possibility of moving to Australia in general, would be very helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi mate, the good news that I hear is the amount if jobs advertised is looking better though like the states we have had a rise in unemployment. I think your wise move would be to contact an agency in Melbourne or Sydney. This will give you a better understanding of jobs and pay. Also seek.com.au or careersone.com.au will help the search.
Other than that Melbourne rocks(: ok I'm biased.
Cheers and well wishes

I'm actually heading over to Oz next week on a working holiday visa. Do you think the best bet for work would be to go directly to an employment agency? I'm actually in a slightly similar situation to the OP except I have my degree in Finance already but have been out of school for over a year now.
