I am trying to plan my new year (a little prematurely perhaps?!) I am travelling round South East Asia from November and wondered where the best place to spend new year is?
I have 7 friends coming to visit for 2 weeks and so we thought it was probably best (though a bit generic) to go to the Full Moon Party on Kho Phangan....
Is this a good idea?? Or does anyone know of anywhere thats perhaps not so touristy or generic?
Also we were looking at staying in a villa type place for all of us, and suggestions where?
All advice very welcome!
im pretty much in the same situation as u mate. going se asia in november, my only real thort for new year was full moon party. u planned out ur routes and stuff yet?
Haven't really planned anything yet! We arrive in Bangkok on December 1st and are in SE Asia for 4 months so were just going to wing it when we get there!
I think we were going to head for Vietnam and Northern Thailand first and then spend new year/early Jan doing the islands and Laos.
Just not sure whether we need to book stuff before for the full moon.
Have you got much of a plan of action?
yeah kind of have a lil plan. flying into kuala lumpur on 24th november, probs gonna get flight str8 up to cambodia mayb spend like a week there then travel up vietnam to north into laos. try do all that in a month ready for new year in thailand, then just chill out really last month in thailand and malaysia.
where u from? u been travelling b4?
Im planning pretty much the same thing. Got a friend coming to meet me in Bangkok start of December head to Vietnam then to the full moon party for New Year. Couldnt think of a better thing to do...?
Pattaya also really knows how to celebrate New Year. Fireworks over the bay, thousands from all over the world partying all night long. Another option if the full moon party on Phangan does not work out.
