I have decided tonight that I am going to head to south america next week, very spontanous! I plan to do it on a shoe string budget and for around 3 - 4 weeks.
I need some advice on where to go and how much to budget? I know I cannot see all of it but plan to make the most out of the time I have and cram as much in as possible. It will also be my birthday out there, so any advice on beach parties or good places to go would be much appreciated.
Brasil is the most expensive and Argentina and Venezuela is the cheapest (places that are good to go, not like paraguay). In Venezuela theres the black market for the dollar about 3 times the bank rate. Right now its winter and on friday it will be cold so Argentina could be cold. Buses is the cheapest way to get around but obviously the longest way. Pick a city to start and work your way out to see places. Brasil is probably the cheapest to fly to from whereever you are. Once you pick a city, then ask here where else to go. Once youve done that, youll get ALOT of responses. Depending where your leaving from, the plane may stop somewhere along the way and thats a free trip. For example, if you are leaving Miami, you could choose from Bogota or Panama City along the way and both are cheap. I always look to see where a plane stops first and even if it costs a little more to stop somewhere ive never been, well.........
Thanks, thats great advice.
Since my initial post I have decided to start out in Rio De Janeiro (fairly cheap price). I am quite intrigued by brazil now and what it has to offer. Any suggestions for places to go in brazil?
