We are seriously thinking of doing some skiing and hiking either in Iceland or in the Julian Alps in December/January. Can anybody help with possible options? We’ve been hiking in summer in the Julian Alps and Iceland but never in winter.
We’ve looked into some possibilities but so far they seems to be limited. Andy experts on the matter>?
Thanks in advance!
I can help you with both venues. Quite simply Iceland will sweep the floor with Slovenia when it comes to hotels and customer service but its probably 20 times, if not more, expensive for everything from ski hire to a cup of coffee. The skiing is Slovenia is just superb and in a lot of ways better than in Iceland that it has many more runs from novice to advanced.
Scenery wise, Iceland gets the gold star more often than not, but Slovenia gets a lot more medals for value and fun in my opinion.
Iceland has never been. But the ski resorts in Slovenia, I liked.
