Hay! Please help me what to do and not to do while booking the flight tickets?

:(

It would help if you tell us how you're making the reservation.

Erm, not really much to it. Find a flight that is for a price you are happy with and pay for it :)

Remember to uncheck the additional offers (like travel insurance; assuming you have that in another form already) which the dodgy sites (e.g. most of them) tend to pre-check for you.

Just a little tip.. Make sure the airline is still in business. An company I have travelled with in the last 18 months, XL, went bust awhile back in Britain. They were still taking bookings after they went down, keeping the money with every knowledge that they would never be flying again. Some people that booked after they went bust are still waiting for their money back. Naughty naughty.

When flying Ryanair and - presumably - other price fighters, be extremely careful to read before clicking agree, especially if you are not familiar with the company. I flew Ryanair for the first time in 5 years a while ago, and they are shockingly sneaky in trying to make some extra money off you.

What did they do?

I fly Ryanair quite regularly and they have never attempted to diddle me while I was unaware.

Make sure the name you provide the airline with when you make the reservation is EXACTLY the same as what you have in your official ID (passport or drivers' license or whatever you're planning to use as an ID when you travel). They're getting pickier and pickier....

Especially if you are from the UK and travelling to the USA. The security guards at places like JFK and Fort Worth appear to be trained to hate the brits at passport control. Not nice.
