I am looking to do a bit of travelling next year- 4 months in Australia, 1 month in Nz then a month in Thailand.
I wanted to travel the East Coast and might start the trip with Oz intro to meet new people. From there I dont really have any plans will just see what happens! I don't plan on going overboard with activities etc but definitley want to do a skydive at some point! Again really not sure in regards to New Zeland what I want to see so think I might just do a planned tour with Sta travel.
Would anyone have any clue how much money I will roughly need for this trip as I wasn't planning on getting a working Visa, but if need be then I will.
It seems you looking at doing exactly what I am which is really weird because I only came to the site to look for someone to join me traveling! lol Anyway, I'm looking at about £3000 for the 5-6 months. Some people might think thats way to much, others not enough, it depends on how you plan on living and getting by etc lol but I'm thinking...£3000 in total...£500 a month, £125 a week...seems reasonable?! lol Maybe call on the parents if you run out? I know I will be lol x
Great minds and I presume your called Charlotte too....very spooky!?!? When are you planning on going, I am looking for Feb just after my 21st Birthday! Do you plan on getting your working visa or just travel, I have been told you need roughly £1000 a month if you just travel so think I might get the visa incase i need it, plus could be fun doing a little bit of work (nothing too stressful!). So how old are you? How come you are travelling alone? What order did you want to travel, i was think Oz New Zeland and Thailand! xxx
haha yeah another Charlotte! :P Im traveling alone because...well, I got my place at Oxford Uni and then it hit me how much work and pressure it was going to be and decided that I wanted to have a break so I'm taking a last minute gap year!! Very Last minute lol By the time I decided my friends had all made plans either to go to University or full time work so there is no one left interested in traveling and thus I'm looking for some one lol Are you going with mates or braving it alone?! Your order of places to go is the same as mine. I'm thinking four months in Oz and the other two months split between NZ and Thailand. I love that you wanna do sky diving....Im desperate to bungee jump!! haha I think I'm going to start in Melbourne where I've family meaning free accommodation! lol and then move up the coast. Depending on how money works out will depend on how far I go I guess. I mean, I'd love to go to Coral Bay but its the other side so it could be pricey to get there! Ill be traveling right after my 19th! Im looking at the Jan/Feb time with Feb looking more appealing everyday as it would mean another month of work for extra cash but I'd like to come bk to England for around the end of July. However, if I had the cash and wanted to stay I would! Are you planning on going at the start or end of Feb? I have looked into the working visa but I'm not sure. I would rather just travel but realistically my money might not go far enough so I'll probs get the visa just to be safe. Like you I reallllllly cant see myself doing anything to stressful! lol xXx
This is strange lol but I am very glad someone is doing same thing as I was worried I just wouldn't meet people lol! I have a date set for 8th Feb (1 week after my birthday), so I am just working towards that at the moment! I was going to fly into Sydney and do the intro to Oz just to meet people then travel east coast, not sure if ur suppose to go up or down lol but would like to finish at Great Barrier Reef, if you can do that, and I am up for change depending on other people! And if I still have time for other places then work out from there what to do! But yes 4months is what I was looking at! Do you have facebook? xxx
We should definatly meet up though!!
Hey all, I don't think £3000 will be enough, I took £4500. The hostels, depending on where you are staying can cost up to $250AUD a week. But if you get a job in on like i did, it was reduced to $199.50AUD. and If your getting a mobile phone, the topups only last a month, and they are $30.00AUD a time. But on the plus side you get $130AUD of credit.
I'm not saying it isnt possible, just very tight. Are you getting a job?
I'm off to NZ next year on a WHV, then back to Australia.
