Hello all I have a friend who is looking for a flat or room in London. She is looking to move at the end of the month and stay for at least 9 months. She's going to be in town the next few days looking. If you know of something that might work, please send me a PM with info and I will pass it along. Thanks in advance!!!!

Flats to let in central London are very expensive and very small. I don't know what her budget is or where she wants to be but she could try letting agents in that area. She will have to pay a deposit (often two months rent) which she will get back when she leaves. Ideally she would want a place within walking distance of public transport. Some areas are a bit dangerous, but especially for a girl on her own. If she has to work in London, it might be worth considering a place, even a one bedroom house or flat a little distance from London and using the money she has saved by being there, to commute into town.

Just had a quick look on the net and a site called spareroom.co.uk is advertising a lot of rooms in shared houses/flats from around £80 per week in various locations around the city.
There are hundreds of websites listing rooms and flats, but hopefully this will give you some idea of cost.

Might help to know what your friends needs are. Perhaps your friend is studying in London where colleges might help with accommodation lists. Or whether there is a preference for budget, a specific district, central or Greater London.

And don't take too much notice of the 'danger' that's been mentioned. Millions of people live and work there with no problems with only a tiny minority getting into trouble - and of those, a good many are involved in it themselves, or are just walking round like idiots just asking for it. Your friend is more likely to be attacked in some backwater provincial town than London.
