I like reminiscing about cartoons from my childhood, and especially like finding someone else that were similarly obsessed by a particular cartoon.

So what were your favourite ones? (I suppose this is going to depend a lot on where everyone is from and how old everyone is!!)

A few of mine:

SuperTed
Captain Planet
Widget the World Watcher
Talespin

........

WOOPS....BIG APOLOGIES...ONLY JUST NOTICED THE OTHER SIMILAR THREAD ABOUT CARTOONS!!! MAYBE SOMEONE CAN DELETE THIS THREAD IF NECESSARY.

That one is asking about some specific cartoon. Which has been answered, if I read it right.

When I was a kid, there was a cartoon called Rocket Robin Hood. Made by the same company that made the Spiderman one. They even shared each other´s screens on occasion

From Memory:

Band of Brothers marching together,
Head held high in all kinds of weather,
With fiery blasts our roaring rockets fly
Beyond the Earth
Beyond the Sky

A side of Robin take a stand!
With the daring leader of our band
Send a joyous shout throught the land
FOR ROCKET ROBIN HOOD!!
!

I used to like it because in between cartoons, they would do promos for the characters. Describing their traits and position in the Band.

And then there was Battle For the Planets, which no one else seems to remember, leading me to believe that I made the whole thing up.

Yup - the other thread was asking about a specific cartoon so no need to delete this thread.

I agree with Talespin. Though, I was in my 30s when it hit the airwaves, along with Animaniacs. (LOVE Animaniacs!)

These are so going to date me, it's pathetic...

Mighty Mouse
Tom Terrific (& His Mighty Dog Manfred)
Heckle & Jeckle
Yogi Bear (& BooBoo Bear, of course)
Huckleberry Hound
Tom & Jerry
Underdog
The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show (and assorted segments involved)
Johnny Quest
Scooby-Doo
Ghostbusters
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The last two fall into the "over 30" thing again.

Sorry Derek - haven't heard of "Battle For the Planets" but someone on wikipedia has... (~1978?)

I apologize. Chilean Independence Day and I am a little hosed.

Band of Brothers marching together,
Head held high in all kinds of weather,
With fiery blasts our roaring rockets fly
Beyond the Earth
Beyond the Sky

At the side of Robin take a stand!
With the daring leader of our band
Send a joyous shout throughout the land
FOR ROCKET ROBIN HOOD!!!

That is the correct version of the sweet Sweet tune.

Thanks for checking for me Gretch. I loved Scooby Doo as well....pre Scrappy. Which to me was the death knell of the series.

I watched Rocky & Bullwinkle regularly.

Thats why I like this subject: all those "Oh yeah, I remember now..." moments.

Like Animaniacs - totally forgot about it!!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will always be around I think. Im not near my thirties yet but it was still a huge part of my childhood!
I remember getting up early every morning to see Tom and Jerry-for me that was back just before there were TV shows 24 hours a day...so had to sit and wait for the blank screen to come to life!

Let's not forget Dick Dastardly and his mean laughing dog Muttley

Is that the one where they were in car races every episode...I just remember the dog Muttley and his wheezy laugh (I think anyway...?)

Couple of others:

Darkwing Duck
Gummi Bears
And not quite a cartoon, but still one of the best!!!!! = GUMBI

"He was once a little green slab of clay. Gumby!

You should see what Gumby can do today. Gumby!

He can walk into any book, with his pony pal Pokey, too.

If you've got a heart then Gumby's a part of you."

What about kids' tv series:

My ultimate favourite is Spellbinder (Australian...but I think it made it overseas). But only the first one...the second series wasn't nearly as good!

I forgot about Tom & Jerry and Chip N' Dale!!! Occasionally, I would watch Alvin & The Chipmunks. They would show Loony Tune cartoons in the gym after lunch during the winters when I was in grade school. Kept us occupied during "recess" and the teachers didn't have to get all the kids dressed in their snowsuits to go out and play. (Recess would have been over before that task was accomplished anyway.) Oh, almost forgot Bugsbunny/Roadrunner Show. Also loved The Thunderbirds with the marionettes.

TV series:

Mickey Mouse Club
Howdy Doody
Andy's Gang (Pluck your magic twanger, Froggy!)

Superman
Lassie
Rin Tin Tin (Rinny is buried in a pet cemetery in France.)
Fury
My Friend Flicka
Land of the Lost
Fantastic Voyage

Sky King
Roy Rogers Show
The Lone Ranger
Cisco Kid
Gene Autrey Show
The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok
