I have a vague Idea for next year about doing a 3 week walk from L.A. to San Fransisco, stopping off at Yosemete Park as well.
Is there anyone who can give any ideas whilst im in the planning stages? Any one done similar?
Any must-see places on way?
Any help will be appreciated,
Yosemite is a major detour, not on the way. If you want to do this walk, keep your route towards the coast and save Yosemite for another trip when you have more time. Otherwise, plan on traversing the central valley and a major uphill trek to even attempt access to Yosemite. Take a good look at topographic maps and you'll understand the issues.
Best of luck on your endeavour.
Walking Most roads in california arent really designed with walkers in mind, could be a dangerous venture as drivers can get rude, discourteous and distracted wear your best reflective clothing.I'd drive a car to the many parks between LA and San Fran and hike on the trails in the parks.
I agree you should wear a lot of your reflective clothing, even during the day. Keep close to the coast, enjoy the beaches as much as you can and try and make the Yosemite trip another day. Yosemite is too beautiful for just a day or two anyway.
