Cabin crew can always rely on alcohol and low levels of oxygen to calm the most savage of beasts.
I've seen that work both ways on long hauls. Nasty people with too much booze, the cabin crew just shut the curtains and let us all suffer - plus I've seen wino's singing in the aisles and everyone having a great time joining in with the songs while the non-drinkers looked on in disgust.
Yeah on a recent Air canada flight they gave me an isle seat when i said i wanted a widow seat they charged me an extra $20 when i asked how long they've been ripping people off like that she said several years.. as for drinking on the plane? the staff are getting real funny about it these days and may deny you boarding if they think you,ve been drinking.
