I've just come back from an amazing trip in Tanzania! One of the highlights of my trip was certainly the few days I spent in Moshi and Arusha, and this has to be thanks to the Moshi-based guide Francis Makala. I booked Francis for a few excursions in the surrounding area, ie to the slopes of the Kilimanjaro, various Maasai markets and Lake Jipe, where you get really close to the elephants going to drink at the lake! I would certainly recommend Francis: he speaks good English, is competent, honest, well known and respected in the community, approachable and has a good sense of humour! Exploring the region with him was an informative and fun experience. Francis is also an experienced Kilimanjaro guide, having trekked to the top more than 20 times, and organizes safaris and other cultural tours, for which I think I'll go back in the future!
