Hi again people!

I'm off to paris on 16th October for 3 nights, and was wondering if anyone out there knew of the cheapest places to stay in the centre of paris or roundabouts.

Any help is appreciated.
Tar!

Hi

I've heard they don't really 'do' hostels in Paris and it's hard to find somewhere cheap to stay. We are going there in December for 3 nights and are going to try out Couch Surfing. I know it's not everyones ideal, but maybe worth a thought. Would be free (or the price of a gift for you host) and you will have a friendly local to ask whatever you need!

When I went there with school though we stayed in a hostel type place called 'Fiap' which was pretty 'budget' nice though, maybe try there?

Good luck :)

Just curious, how do you found a host?

I was told of a place called Hotel Medici, but have since lost the details.

Apparently near to some famous gardens. Has anyone heard of it?

Are there any cheap places for students where to stay for a night?

www.couchsurfing.com - make a profile and search away! there are thousands of profiles per city :)

Uh, wrong? They most certainly have hostels in Paris. I'm staying here at the Vintage Hostel during the third week of December.

The youth hostel AIJ is near Bastille and quite central (less than 20 euro pppn) : http://www.aijparis.com/
Alternatively, there's also MIJE which is in Marais thus very central (about 30 euro pppn) : http://www.mije.com/
Also, Oops Hostel have several locations, some central (about 30 euro pppn) : http://www.oops-paris.com/

You can also search for places using HostelWorld : http://www.hostelworld.com

I stayed in Paris for 3 days with Couchsurfing this september. A very nice way if you have to think of yout budget. But it's not so easy to find a host in Paris - you have to try hard :)
