A bunch of my friends are going to Switzerland for the New Year's and a few days. We are staying in Zurich for 1 night and the rest in Interlaken. We have about 5 days to travel and go places. We were thinking of going to Italy for sure, but could not decide which other country. (I prefer Germany). I just wanted to know if there are must-sees that we could check out. I am into the whole club scene and much more. I want to experience nightlife in Europe as well as admire its majestic qualities the U.S. lacks. Thanks!
Nightclubs in Switzerland are going to disappoint you somewhat, if you're into full on allnighters.
As you suggest, Germany is so much better than Switzerland for the club scene. A little way north from where you are staying is the really good city of Stuttgart, It has some excellent clubs and it's a very friendly town.
Within Switzerland your best town is Zurich for good clubs. Geneva has them also, but they are so upper crust and expensive. The music in Geneva is a bit soft too.
Thanks for the information! I'm a big techno fan and really want to experience a few techno clubs. We decided we would visit: Milan, Venice, Munich, Stuttgart, Paris with Marseille, and Lyon. You have any ideas where I would get the best expereince from any of the places (I enjoy Basshunter a lot)?
