Hi Guys,
I have just booked up my round the world trip with 2 of my best mates and i don't think i could be anymore excited!! 
I was just wondering if anyone can offer any advice on what is a must to see on my travels?
My trip starts by leaving the UK on the 29th december 09 heading to south east Asia where i will be spending about 12 weeks touring through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and singapore. I then get a flight to Australia and plan to hire a camper van and drive down the east coast Cairns - Melbourne. I only have 6 weeks for this but feel this is enough time for this (hopefully). Next i head to New Zealand for 4 weeks before heading to South America. In south america i am starting in Santiago Chile and will be spending 10 days here. Then im flying to Buenos aires, after a few days maybe a week i will make my way via public transport to brazil and then up through Paraguay and Bolivia ending in Peru. all in all for South america i have 10 weeks. In Peru i plan to experiance the Inca trail and have a 4 day tour booked.
From Peru i fly to Miami and will be spending 3 months in the states. From Miami i fly to NYC then plan to get a train with Amtrek which do a hop on hop off deal allowing you 8 stops (has anyone used this before? is it worth the money? it costs around £400). I plan to use these stops to get from NYC to New Orleans seeing alot inbetween. Once in New Orleans i will be hiring a car or camper van and making my way to Vegas and LA then up to Seattle.
I will then cross into canada where i will spend my final 2 months spending a month around in British Columbia, then the other month i will use to get to Torronto Via Train and a company called Viarail which again offer a hop on hop off service. This is where my Trip sadly ends 12 months later.
I have a few things planned along the way but any additional info on what to look out for or what to see or any good advice in general will help loads.
Also i have a rough idea on spending money to take but your opinion on this would help too.
One more thing - Insurance? i have looked into a few companies but am probably going to get some with Flexi cover has anyone used these? are they anygood got quoted £240 for the 12 months.
