myself and a friend are looking at coming to Europe for a few months in 2010 probably be there from April - August. We'll be travelling on very limited funds, so we want to keep away from the normal tourist traps that charge heaps to get into, particularly during the very busy season. Both of us love going to weird and wonderful places, so im looking for some ideas for places to visit that arent quite so mainstream!
Also, we are both ghost tour guides, so for research purposes we want to go on lots of ghost tours to see how they compare! (we've budgeted extra for tickets for these tours!)
Any suggestions would be great!
They do ghost tours in Liverpool, UK. Never been on one though so I cant say how good they are.
thanks, do you happen to know what they're called?
There's nothing 'ghostly' about the Kostnice Ossuary, but it might still be the kind of place you'd like to visit. Also, this site may be useful.

Edinburgh has hundreds of ghost tours most of which start on the famous Royal Mile. I am sure if you google it you find all the info you need. Supposedly some very good one's but I have never personally been.
Not the cheapest of cities I might add however. It is beautiful though so a few days might be worth it.
To add a little about the 'Ghost' tours in Liverpool if you're into it, it's possible go down to the original Cavern Club (where the Beatles first played), which is now closed down and has been for decades. The Cavern Club for the tourists is not even on the original site.
The original club is situated on the other side of the street and down some boarded up steps.
However there is another entrance that Lverpool City Council and the small underground metro train service have the keys for. Might be worth asking around.
thanks, some very useful tips, and the links were very helpful.
ive heard that theres meant to be one specific ghost tour in Edinburgh thats very good, supposed to be one of the best in the world. Does anyone know which one this is?
