Buses in Chile, Argentina and the parts of Bolivia I were in were clean and modern. They did have washrooms, and there were even sleeper buses (cama or semi-cama) that had reclining seats, aiding in the sleeping process.

Hi Greg!

That sounds good! I didn't have a clue that buses are that nice! I've always thought that buses in South America are quite old fashioned! well anyway,that sounds promising.

The quality of the buses varies greatly depending on the company you travel with and where you are going. They mostly have a toilet on board but this cannot be guaranteed (I think only one of the ones I went on didn't). In Brasil the luxury ones are called Leixo and offer better-than-first-class-plane facilities. Real luxury on wheels! Bussing is great fun!
