Love that joke, Airfix!

Paperclips... hm. How about you string together a few paperclips and it forms some sort of chain? Then you tie a string around it or something, and it becomes a new-age keychain.

Okay, I'm certified bored.

Let's see...

Insert a straightened clip through the tiny hole of the CD-ROM panel to eject the CD out of the CD-ROM drive manually when the tray fails to open, or when there's no power to switch on the PC.

Hmmmm... I've been racking my brain trying to come up with a novel use of a paperclip... Since I posted the question in the first place, I guess I really should...

But you know, for the life of me, the best I can come up with is....

A straightened paperclip could be used as a cable-tidy to provide some kind of order to the untidyness behind 'most' peoples' computer desk..?? Of course, the cables would have to be grouped together and the straightened paperclip could then be wound around them to keep them all together...

I really should try and get some studying done...

What about a really bad and ineffective antenna? Or a very unhygenic (an painful!) earring? Or if you unwind a whole bunch of paperclips and wind them together into a long stick, it can replace the remote control! All very bad choices but they still are choices!

For a travel-related, albeit kinda gross, use of a paperclip:

In a pinch, it'll get rid of those horrid shoe blisters. Not blisters on the shoes, but... oh, you know what I mean.

And Airfix, in thanks for all your entertaining jokes:

What did the fish say when it bumped into the wall?
Dam.

hehe... Love the improvised remote control... Could serve as a remote control for all kinds of things, like turning on and off light's, etc., etc.... I also thought of the fashionable jewelery, be it earings, or necklaces, and so on...

But let's not get started on the fish jokes.....

Two fish swimming around in a bowl... The one in front turns around and says, "Hey, Mate... Will you PLEASE stop following me!!"

No..? OK, how about....

Two fish in a tank and one says to the other, "Hey, Mate... How are we supposed to drive this thing!!"

Sorry!!

What do you call a fish with no eye's..?
FSH!!!

I'll get my coat...

Usually, I'm dying of laughter at your jokes Airfix, but I just didn't get the first two! Blame it on the brains leaking out!

Quoting Airfix

Two fish swimming around in a bowl... The one in front turns around and says, "Hey, Mate... Will you PLEASE stop following me!!"

Is the second fish really following the first, or jst swimming around in the same bowl... And how can you tell which is in front anyway..??

These two fish aren't actually swimming, but are in a military tank...

Sorry!!

Uses for paperclips....

- I play with them when I'm bored. Sometimes I straighten them and poke the desk; other times I lift the smaller part up slightly and pretend it's a "paper-clip puppet" and make it talk. It's not that springy, but it passes the time. I put them on the ends of my fingers and tap on the desk as well. That one gets on the co-workers nerves, lol. Then there's the ever-popular paperclip shooting game. Just put out a coffee cup or paper cup and shoot them in.

- I've used a paper clip to keep a necklace together.

- If I were MacGyver (did you know his first name was Angus? LOL), all I would need is a paper clip, a rubber band and some chewing gum, and I could construct a laser or break into a house or something, lol.

Cheers,
Katie ;)
