Quoting cozzyboz

thanks guys, big help.
think we are gonna go for the multiple entry to be on the safe side as are plans change every day!xx

I would e-mail or call with the UK Thai Embassy. I called the LA Consulate and they verified that the 60 day visa is free until March 2010. No mention of the multiple entry visa being free. You might get 2, 60 day visas for free but not the multiple entry visa. Check

THis is the problem with these visas - if you start one on entry and then decide to leave the country before your 60 days are up you loose the rest.
You can "stack" up to 3 of these visas and I believe get then extended in THailand at an immigration office.

I think some people come in on a "visa waiver" 30 day stamp and then on exiting/re-entry activate their 60 day visa.

A "non immigrant "O" visa can be subject to some financial status restrictions - but it seems that different issuers have different ways of interpreting these.

i would recommend you apply at an "Honorary Consulate" rather than an embassy.
