If it's any consolation, I have a headache too...

I'm not bored tho, I have an essay to write for Cognitive Neuroscience, and an interview to conduct for Research Methods... You can do them for me if you like... Let me know if you wanna and I'll post the details... ;);)

Then I can go out and get drunk...

Blech. I hate headaches. The only time they're gone for good and for sure is if I'm travelling. Alone. Go figure...

But if you're still bored, you can help me come up with some arguments as to why the Quebec Cancer Society should consider soliciting the English population within the province. Oh, don't they know I'm just a lowly copywriter!:(

nah i'll give the work a miss thanx guys. i really feel like pigging out but i dont really want anything! i'm in one of them moods and have been for the past coupla weeks.

the headache- ive had just over a week-i think its due to stress, its bearable tho-touch wood (i'll go and jinx myself now!)

good luck with the work-rather you than me thats for sure!

why dont you both leave the work and go and get drunk! actually last time i didnt feel like going out and decided to just go and get drunk i ended up having a bouncer and a woman carry me outside the club!-oh how embarrassing, then to make even more of a prat of myself i layed outside the club on the pavement...yes i repeat on the pavement wiva coupla mates and some bloke that i was sleeping on who happened to help us for some unknown reason!!

Why solicit English speakers? You mean other than the reason that average household income in Quebec for French speakers is $49,565 and average household income for English speakers in Quebec is $58,438? (Source: Association for Canadian Studies)

;)

I believe it's because, up till now, English Quebecers fell under the banner of the Canadian Cancer Society. Plus we have to convince them that the extra cost of producing mailings in English (less volume = greater cost per solicitation)is worth the investment.

Oh, Greg, now you've got me working...

Guess what, I'm bored. I use that sentence so many times during the day at work! I'm a receptionist (with a university degree going to waste! ) and we don't get too many calls during the day, so most of the time I'm either reading a book or online wasting time. A good thing that my boss told me I was allowed to goof off between calls! A funny thing happened though just now. I answered the phone "SR Telecom Bonjour" (which means SR Telecom Goodmorning), and the woman said "I don't speak Canadian, I speak English." Well my intelligent friend, Canadian is NOT a language! Canadians speak English and some speak French. Anyway, other than that, my "work" is frighteningly boring. Be afraid, be very afraid! Yawn...

OMG, Tam! That remindes me of a time when I worked at a hotel while in University. I answered the phone "Buanderie, bonjour" ("Laundry service, hello") and she said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I only speak American." How I bit my tongue not so say "Oh, sorry, I don't." Grrrr....

Seriously! I felt like giving her some attitude because she was so rude and abrupt in saying it, but I was just stunned that someone could be so stupid! Canada isn't exactly Burkina Faso (just an example people, I'm not saying anything derogatory about Burkina Faso), and people generally know that Canadians speak English! Mostly I get a lot of Americans calling and gushing over French and how it sounds so nice, but really this one was super rude! Anyway, I had a nice laugh afterwards!

P.S. My post count should give you a general idea of how bored I am at work!
