My aim is to also become a travel guru, by posting through boredom at work.

Maybe we need a thread like this for times when you need a good whinge. Like:

I have toothache and sore gums (wisdom teeth) This is driving me mad and the main reason I'm in a bad mood. Its no wonder babies are so mardy when they're teething.

It is never the right temperature in this office (either boiling or freezing)

I am sick of colleagues assuming that any boring admin task is automatically my job, even though there is another member of staff in the same position as me who surely should do half?

But hey on the bright side- exactly 6 weeks today until I fly to SE Asia!
And only about 20 more days at work! woohoo!

Quoting travelover

... P.S. My post count should give you a general idea of how bored I am at work!

Quoting Lil Liz

Ah... Feel bored. A recipe to become a Travel Guru. I had just turned a Travel Guru for less than a day when Peter literally grabbed me away to become a moderator.

It has been a very unproductive week for me so far. For the past three days, I've been sitting at my desk, feeling so bored, and goofing around the web looking for something interesting, for more than half the time at work. I'm none the better than you two, travelover and Lil Liz. Luckily I'll be flying away to Malaysian Borneo tomorrow on a work trip. That should kill off my boredom! ;) Too bad I'll be returning on Friday.

Luckily my boss hardly uses the PC, let alone surfing the net to see this post!

I don't know what it is today, it seems everyone is very very bored.

It looks to me like there's more activity on travellers point than normal. It's all in "off topics" which is a sure sign of people with time on their hands. Either that or people trying to become Travel Guru's eh Jas?

Actually I haven't got much time, cos i've only got about 18 days left at work and there's a lot of loose ends to tie off before I go.

Try doing something spontaneous. Like... walking around without your shoes. Or dumping a glass of water on your least-favourite-person's head. That'll get things moving!

That reminds me of the instant reaction I have to quell whenevr I have to work with really, really frustrating people. "Would anyone really blame me if I just reached out and poped them upside the head?"

yeh liz-thats right, ha! ha! actually it is all going on in here aint it-i usually come on here every night after work but coz i'm off today and everyone else is at work i'm just so bored-altho i shud be enjoying my day off i just cant! so i'm posting replies for the sake of it i think!

dont fret liz-u'll be a travel guru in no time-i dont think i really deserve the title but there we go-if i could give it to you then trust me i would!

barrie- i would if i could-find the energy, put on some loud music and exercise-that would do me just fine. Actually i might hibernate in my bedroom with the radio up loud-what i'm going to do i'm still uncertain!

Keep posting Barrie so you can keep me company! The worst is after lunch (btw, it's 9:13 am here right now) around 2pm when I realize that I have nothing to do, and I don't want to read my book, no calls are coming in, and my post of half an hour ago is still the newest post! But what I really want to know is, can you skip on work to go to the gym? That would be totally wicked!

I became a Travel Guru about a hundred posts before I got really bored at work, so I can lay claim to that at least! But yeah, do not be fooled by my post count... at least a hundred of those posts are boredom induced!

Sometimes I wish I could do cartwheels, because if I could, I would do them at work. That would be funny. I'm still bored. Sigh....

Even I would rather be in the gym than here and thats saying something for me!
