Rippedoff,

Sorry to note your unfortunate experiences with Air Asia.

Travellers with any budget airlines should remember that any change you make like name or date change whatever may be the slightest changes , you are in for a rip off. This is where such airlines get its money back. Do you have one kg more of baggage than prescribed, then you pay through your nose.
So whenever you buy a cheap ticket from any of the budget airlines, never never change.

If one is not prepared then the best answer is go to normal/regular airlines.

Believe me.... You can fly Qantas, KLM, BA and Singapore (not to mention USA USA carriers, that promise the earth and deliver no more than dirt), pay a mortgage more and get the same lack of service.
Good of you to pass the info on though.

AirAsiaX... be careful.

Most recently, my wife and I were stranded in Abu Dhabi when AirAsiaX announced they were canceling service to/from Abu Dhabi in January this year. They didn’t notify us (their stranded passengers) until Feb 10th. Neither did they offer any accommodation nor answer our emails asking for help. We had to get back to Malaysia on our own. They won’t reimburse our additional expenses either.

They said they would refund the Abu Dhabi/Kuala Lumpur portion of our trip, but it will take them 30-50 days to process the refund. Such an attitude!

Watch out for these guys. If you are considering using AirAsiaX, It might be a good idea to develop a plan B... just in case.

what do you expect for a firm that sponsors premiership referees!

Sorry I must disagree but I guess its being in the right/wrong place at the right/wrong time.
I always use Air Asia now as I have found them so efficient, maybe its because they know me as I use them often.

Yes I'm sure that's it, they know you. They probably have a big gold star pop up on the screen when you check in, so they know to make sure the flight isnt canceled or delayed, and lay on special extra staff to schlep their wares up and down the isles every 2 minutes trying to sell you something. Honestly being on a Air Asia flight sometimes feels like i'm in a street market. "me make good price, you like?" Danlo your one of the cattle just like the rest of us, you have just been lucky enough not to have to deal with their customer service when you needed something done out of the bounds of just buying a ticket.

Since I posted this I had a crazy run in with Virgin Blue. It seems all these "discount" airlines are the same and have developed "customer service" to a new art. Patronize the customer with "oh I'm sorry you are having this problem" run them around until they either give up and hang up, or put them on hold till they go away. Don't worry Danlo, you fly with Air Asia long enough and you'll eventually get to experience it.

I remember having this problem too when I booked with them. It was really annoying. I was using a VISA debit but it was no good!! I think I tried about 4 times with the same error message, so I had to use another card...

I've flown Air Asia a couple of times. Cheap and cheerful.
It does what it says on the label basically. If you're prepared to be flexible with your schedule, then there's no other airline to beat them (or even come close) on price.

Yes, everything is fine... until a problem arises. That's when the AirAsia kids run and hide.

I like their price.
And if you have a good credit card, they cover your luggage if it gets lost. So I dont' mind.
