Hey guys!

We all know it's the holiday season, so I was wondering what your favourite Christmas carols are? (Or Hannukah, or Kwanza...)

Mine are:
- The Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth by David Bowie and Bing Crosby
- The Carol of the Bells
- Feliz Navidad (for some reason I couldn't get that song out of my head for years!)
- The Christmas Song ("chestnuts roasting by an open fire..." )
- White Christmas

Well, I like them all, but those are my top five!

Cheers,
Katie ;)

i quite like the one that goes 'parrumpapumpum' - it might actually be the drummer boy one...cant remember any more of it though.....

and of course 'rudolph the red nosed reindeer'.......

and also 'walking in winter wonderland' one.

Exactly a month till Chrstmas Eve!

Carols to me are the traditional, religious ones. The others i'd call Christmas songs.

Despite not being religious I get a bit of a shiver when I hear Silent Night. I think its beautiful. I can be soppy and sentimental like that. It also makes me think of the old story about the First World War where they supposedly stopped fighting on christmas day and the Germans sang "Stille Nacht" and both sides played football.

As for Christmas songs in general you've got to love all the greats like White Christmas. Bing Crosby's voice on that is what its all about.

I love Shane McGowan and Kirsty McColl "Fairytale of New York"

Nothing says "Merry Christmas!" better than "you're a bum, you're a maggot, you're a cheap, lousy..."

Hee hee! I love that song, too...

Plus:

  • Carol of the Bells
  • Ave Maria
  • Anything you can sing to

Good King Wenceslas looked out on the Feast of Stephen, When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp even. Brightly shone the moon that night, though the frost was cruel, when a poor man came in sight, gathering winter fuel.

I like Christmas music... it's so cheery. My favorites O Holy Night, and mostly what you guys said. And for some reason, nothing says Christmas more than the song on the Charlie Brown Christmas thingie they show every year. I love it!

P.S. Katie, I think your official theme song should be "Feliz Navidad"!

Yep, my favourite two have already been mentioned. 'Oh Holy Night' is a brilliant song when sang by a full choir, gives you tingles at midnight mass when the winds howling outside.

And 'Fairytale...' is a cracking tune. We always have The Pogues on at Christmas, the best drinking music ever made.

"'So happy Christmas, I love you baby', says Shane McGowan from Puchaun in the county Tipperary in the snug. So i took him by the hand and i gazed into his eyes and i kissed him on the lips and i said 'Shane....i love you baby too'"

CHRISTY MOORE.
