hey,

I am really getting crazy about this now as I'm trying to figure it out for the last 2-3 hours. I am able to load up some photos and they actually appear in the post. However, there is no "photography"-section on the right side - where 2-4 photos are seen as thumbnails. I hope you know what I mean? I'm trying to set up a kind of photo gallery where people can see all the pictures I've taken. But without this "photography"-section with the button "more photos" there's no link to my public gallery..... can you please help me??

Hi Myriam,

In your profile, just click one of your photos. It will bring up a larger version of that particular one. Above that photo will appear another thumbnail with "4 Photos by Myri Am" "Show as Gallery" "Subscribe" listed directly below the thumbnail. Both "Show as Gallery" and "Subscribe" are links. If you click "Show as Gallery" - all of your photos will be appear. Presently, you only have the four uploaded. As you add more photos, you will also create multiple "pages" containing a certain number each.

Hope that helps.

hi isadora,

thank you for your quick answer! that's right,if I do so, the pictures are shown as a gallery. but i would definitely prefer that "photography"-section on the right side - i think it takes too long for my friends to first click on "more about myri am" then click on a photo, then on "show as gallery". and almost all of the other blogs have it - what am I doing wrong?

I guess you mean on your blog? Go to your 'My Blogs' page and click the Settings link that is in the second to last column. That will show you a page with a bunch of different settings, and one of them is Show photos in navigation. I think it's probably set to 'no photos'? Assuming so, change that to one of the options listed there (2,4, 6 or 8) and the photos will start showing!

exactly, I mean my blog, sorry for not mentioning that. I have done that: I switched the button to 2 photos and some other time to 4 photos but nothing happens! although I have uploaded quite a lot photos now......strange....!!

Hmm, something changed in the code since I originally wrote this, and those photos are now cached for one day. So because your photos were uploaded more than 24 hours ago, they didn't straightaway show up there. I reloaded the cache and you'll now see your photos on the right!! I agree that this is a little confusing, but necessary to keep the site running quickly.... Photos you upload should show there within 24 hours roughly.

By the way, cool to see you've set your blog to German. If you find anything in the translation that you think needs changing, let me know!! It can always be improved I'm sure!! :)

Yeah! THANK YOU!!!! And I though I'm like the dumbest person on earth.....and I really wanted to stay here as I like the different options.
Thumbs up for this forum, by the way, great that it works so quickly!

referring to the translation: I noticed one little thing yesterday: the word for profile is translated as "profiel" but it's only written with "i": "profil". Ah and "photgraphy" : I like it in ENglish but if you want to translate it, it's "Fotografie".

once more: thanks a lot!!!

or even better as more natural would be just "fotos" ;-)

Right; both those terms are changed then! Let me know if there's more you see. It could be that there's words in English if we've added to the blogs after doing the translations, although a lot of it looks pretty up to date at the moment :)
