Halong Bay with ODC Travel Company

Hi all,

I will be travelling to Vietnam and I am planning to take a 2 night/3 days tour from Halong Bay - Cat Ba Island. Therefore I have been reading posts and looking at web pages.
I have found a good offer with ODC Travel. This agency is also recommended in my guidebook (Lonelyplanet Guide Book). I tried to check what experiences other travellers have with them but I only found one post here of people who did not like them.
Are there any other opinions? Can anyone who has done the tour with them tell me about the quality of the boat/tour

The name rings a bell as a company that shows up on Travellerspoint from time to time spamming the forum.... I'm not otherwise familiar with them, but here's an interesting thread on Lonely Planet about a boat of theirs sinking....

I read the thread on LP forum, but my friends said that they took a tour of ODC Travel last month and feel it's ok, their price is softer and services is also not bad.

I prefer the South Pacific Travel.

I also read the thread, there are many opposite opinions. one says it is good as they feel satisfied with travel service and others says it bad if they do not like. But no one is perfect and sometimes unexpected problems occur is unavoidable, especially in bad weather conditions. We do not know how was the truth in that post but we need to be careful for our choices.

As I know, ODC is not as good as Handspan or Exo, Fidi tour but not so bad as some open tour companies. You can compare and try it once to experience. Hundreds of agencies in Hanoi where you can easily to find when you come there. I have good reviews from my friends for this company.

Unfortunately, the last two posters just confirm my suspicions of this company spamming Travellerspoint (yes, we can check this stuff). It definitely seems super unreliable to me if they resort to this much spam.
