Hi travelers, I am going to Hanoi in 2010, I really want to know the best hostel in Hanoi because my group is 15 pax (hotel maybe very expensive) I only know The Drift Backpackers, Hanoi Backpackers and Real Darling Cafe Guest House. What about others? Thanks

Hi, With the group of 15 pax, it is difficult for you to find a hostel in Hanoi, especially in Old Quarter. In my opinion, I think you should find a hotel with a budget rate in Old Quarter, Hanoi. You can concern Hanoi Classic hotel: http://hanoiclassichotel.com/classic2hotel/index.htm. I hope it can help you! Nice trip in Vietnam

i used the accommodation option, left panel. Choose VietNam, then choose HaNoi. World Hotel in HaNoi got a good rating, is in the Old Quarter and is cheaper than a hostel. You might be able to book enough rooms for your group.

Thanks! But I viewed some hostel websites and found that the price was only 6 - 8$/pax and the 2 star Hotel was 14-15$/pax, It may be expensive for a big group. We are student

Have you checked out something like groopii? Though I'm not sure how their prices/coverage is in Asia, it's free to ask With one of the hostel websites, or f.e. through Travellerspoint's hostels in Hanoi, you can't book more than 8 or 9 in a single booking typically, so you'd end up with a couple of bookings.

Hi, I don't know if things have changed since I was in Hanoi around 2 years ago, but at that time there was only one hostel in town. Luckily it is also a really nice place! Its run by two Aussie guys and they have great rooftop BBQs as well as free beer on a Sunday! Address is http://www.hanoibackpackershostel.com/ Enjoy Hanoi! Tom

I stayed at the Hanoi Backpackers Hostel, the same one recommended by Tom, early this year and thought it was brilliant. It was probably the best place we stayed in Vietnam for meeting other people, although I think for the amount we were paying you could have had your own room in a hotel. Although if you want to socialise and a good atmosphere I don't think you can beat the hostel.

WE stayed in August at the Vietfun 2 and it was the best hostel we stayed in the whole time we travelled in Vietnam.

You need to re-read World Hotel. 4 people in one room, $18. That is cheaper than a hostel.
