We are looking into a honeymoon in Malaysia in Aug of this year. We are thinking about Langkawi but are open to other options. We are up for any suggestions. We would like to hike dive snorkel and sight see. Please any help would be greatly appreciated, where to stay what to do?
Thanks Stephen and Amy
Is there a reason you want to specifically go to Malaysia?
no reason really
we love to travel. Love different cultures. We have already been to thailand and are looking for something similar but still unique
Hi Stephen and Amy,
Did you mean to say August of NEXT year?
Well, I can see from your profile that you have asked this question twice already before this. The first time was on 12 May 2004 while the second time on 29 July 2004. What do you want to know?
Langkawi is a good choice for a honeymoon. Penang is also a good choice too. As previous posters have pointed out in your previous questions, Tioman Island is also a good choice for honeymoon. Perhentian Islands' seawater, beach, and corals are much better than those in Tioman. Plus, it's not as commercialised too. So, if both of you don't like too much development and "too many" tourists areas, this is a good choice. Otherwise, Tioman will have more activities.
Anyway, here's some links for you.
Let me know if you need more help/information.
[ Edit: Fixed the links ]
there are Redang Island as well.
I would recommend Pangkor Laut as the honeymoon resort, but I don't think there is good diving on the west side of the pennisular.
Why not give Tanjong Jara Resort a try? It is on the east coast of Malaysia, and I think August is a good time still to be going there, check out the website, it'll have u sold
Check out this website for diving near Tanjong Jara:
Sorry, not sure if I am allowed to paste websites on the web... but anyway, if it doesn't appear, just google "diving" and "Tanjong Jara".
Have a GREAT honeymoon!
There is this new place in Tioman Islands called Japamala. Or if you and husband wanna be close to nature, try 'Sekeping Serendah'. It's about 45mins drive from KL and it's set in pristine jungle.
They have 2 'sheds' made out of glass and steel.
Try this website to view the place: www.serendah.com
I recommend Redang if you like snorkeling.
I liked Pangkor Island, only 30 minutes ferry from Lumut ... south of Penang. You can catch a bus to Lumut from KL, Penang, Ipoh or Melaka.
Very few foreign tourists on Pangkor, so prices are low. Mostly mainland Malaysians attending conferences during the week.
Nice white beaches and clear water. A small enough island to ride a hire motorcycle ride around on in less than hour.
You might like to try East Malaysia - Sabah in particular. There's an island there called Sipadan which is stil one of the top 5 dive sites in the world.
