Hey guys

Im looking to buy a decent camera for a trip through south-east asia next year, mainly for taking outdoor scenic shots and maybe some action shots aswell. I dont really know too much about photography but want to get decent one thats pretty versatile and easy to use. Heres one im looking at

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-Lumix-DMC-FZ38EB-K-Digital-Camera/dp/B002KHMJ78/ref=dp_return_1?ie=UTF8&n=560798&s=electronics

If anyones got any advice about this camera or other places i could find a decent one for a similar price would be great.

Do you prefer D-SLR or compact format?
What sort of quality and shots are you planning for.
