New Year's Eve in Zurich

My friends (ages 19-24) have planned a trip to go to Zurich, Switzerland for New Year's Eve celebration. I have personally never been to Europe, but have heard that Zurich is one of the biggest New Year's Eve celebrations in the world. Not sure about it but I do hope so! Anyways I just wanted to know how it is in the past (such as events and other activities). I want to make it a very memorable one. Any certain place I must visit? Thank you all!!!
