After having a look on seek i see there are quite a lot of IT jobs in Australia at the moment, plenty in field anyway, i guess there will be a lot of applicants as you would expect for each job, do immigrants get as good a chance as locals for these jobs?

Hi Andy, I work in IT in Sydney and the last few IT jobs advertised at the company I work for have had heaps of applicants, around 60 for each position. Due to equal employment opportunity regulations immigrants have the same preference as locals. |

It's hard to have a job which is not their preference in Australia. IT companies there are seeking for outsourcing company to countries that have the most IT specialist for which they don't have a lot of work to do in terms of programming and coding.
