what was your budget?

hello!

i'm going around the world for 3 months in 2 weeks and quite frankly the money situation is scaring the hell out of me. i can't sleep i'm so worried about it. for a month of the trip i'll be on a tour and the other month i'll be staying in the uk with family. we're visiting tokyo, europe and america. what was your budget? whats the smallest amount anyone has travelled on? i really need a boost in morale! flights, some accomodation and tours have been paid for. in all honesty i reckon the tour is going to leak the most money out of us!

My budget (I didn't go on tours) was approximately $30-40US a day in America, $50US a day in Japan and depending on the parts of Europe you go and the accommodation you stay between 30-50 Euro a day. All these figures were about 4 years ago now so prices have probably gone up a bit if anything. If you are going to be tight on money control yourself from buying any alcohol and live mostly off supermarket food and bottled water from the supermarket. Buying from there saves heaps in comparison to buying from a corner store. I could have spent less had I not gone to most the tourist attractions in the places I went, but I never spent up or ate out at a restaraunt in either my 4 month rtw trip, 7 month rtw or a quick one 1.5 month rtw trip.
