Travel Forums General Talk House exchange?

Hi guys

I was reading a article on the plane the other day about home/house exchanges.

Has anyone been ivolved in one of these? apprently it is a very popular way to go.

There are a few websites where you can put a search of who wants to come to your country from the destenation you want to go to.

You then contact each other and swap home for the time you wish while they come to your house and yours to theirs. Some exchanges even have a car to exchange with you.

Anyone done this before?

hey, well this is going back few years but at school we had french and german exchanges and a few of my mates that done them said that they are fab, you really get to know how other people live and it is an experience not to be missed-i can't say that i have experienced it myself tho! i suppose as long as it is set up through a well known 'group' you should be ok!

I've heard about a website www.globalfreeloaders.com that is not exactly a home exchange but you can stay with members in countries you will visit. It sounds like a great idea. Anyone heard of this?
