Hi Guys,

My partner and I are traveling RTW August 2010, I was wondering if our cash flow got a bit short could we get some work to subsidize our trip? I am 35 and my partner will be 40 years of age. From what I have googled working visas are for just 18-30, help me out?????

Our plan SEA, OZ, NZ, south and North America.

I have been looking at voluntary projects in Peru and Ecuador.

Could we do something like fruit picking in Oz without a visa or is that a big no no???

Thanks for any advice

Kaz

It would be illegal for you to work in the fashion you are talking due to the age restrictions put on working holiday visas. You could possibly pick something up but it is a big no no and could see you get deported and be banned from coming to Australia for somthing like 10 years.

Thanks for the reply, I've been doing a bit more googling I found a good site Help Exchange. Volunteer work on a farm for example for free digs and food. Yeah there is hope for us older backpackers haha

Cheers
