well.. this is an interesting thread... I bet ya'll had a productive day at work 2 days ago :)

only take guys shopping if you want them to buy or carry the bags and keep feeding them every 2 hours or so. and if you have to take kids stuff your pockets and purse with candy and fruit snacks (that's what we do with my little sister)

When I go clothes shopping i love to go with my sister or my mom becuase they get sick of my dawdling and hemming and hawing about whether or not to actually buy the clothing item i spent 45+ min searching for and if they like it they'll tell me to buy and if they don't like it they'll tell me and I'll listen cuz i'm the baby and that's what i do. (sometimes)
Christmas presents I like to know at least what type of thing i'm looking for or I'll just look and look and look for hours and thoroughly enjoy it.

lil j --- as far as older guys and fathers i understand what you mean. I've had a few dates with older guys nothing serious but my father always says about other girls dating older guys that he wonders what is wrong with the guy that they are that desparate (as in hopeless) that they can't find a girlfriend their own age. I think it depends on the situation and how old the younger partner is. if you're above 18 i figure anything goes (can go).

happy shopping!!!

Just thought I'd let you guys know about my happy shopping day a couple of days ago. I bought a blazer for $40 last week and when I went into the store this week it was $14.99! I asked the girl when it went on sale, she said she didn't know but if I had my bill she could give me a price adjustment. Well I did, and I did! :) Got 27 bucks back!!! Was quite the happy camper. Then I walked into a home design store and found a framed print I had been looking at for 50% off!! (for 25 bucks) I basically broke even! Yee haaaa!!!!

leahrb, I completely agree with the guys thing: only take them if you want them to buy you stuff, give hints of what you want for your birthday/xmas/anniversary, or want them to carry stuff.

You need to bring people with you that can give an honest opinion if those pants make your butt look big, or if that shirt is too short for you, etc, etc. But of course, that's in the final shopping stage.

Five shopping stages:
-First stage is go by yourself so you can spend 4 hrs looking without getting "are you done yet?" looks from your friends.
-Then wait a little to see if you can't live without it.
-Go back by yourself to make sure it's what you remembered it to be.
-Then bring a friend to get their honest opinion on it.
-Buy it/get someone to buy it for you.

But then again, there's always the impulse buys, which are my favourite!

Cheers,
Katie ;)

I say the best holiday gifts you buy are the ones you buy for yourself! (Although finding the perfect gift for someone and watching them open it is a very close second )
