Hey Amicia,

Where is St. Eustatius ?? I hadn't heard of that one before - we don't have it in our country list I think. Is it known as anything else?

Yes, I was thinking just a week ago that I should resurface that thread since I've added a couple of notches to the belt :)

Here goes ordered by when I was there (roughly)

  • Netherlands
  • USA
  • PNG
  • Solomon Islands
  • Fiji
  • Vanuatu
  • Nauru
  • Australia
  • Singapore
  • Guam
  • Switzerland
  • England
  • Wales (I am lost on the time factor already)
  • Luxemburg
  • France
  • Germany
  • Belgium
  • Spain
  • Italy
  • San Marino
  • New Zealand
  • Mexico
  • Thailand
  • Norway
  • Denmark
  • Sweden
  • Finland
  • Hong Kong
  • Costa Rica
  • Mauritius
  • Indonesia

I can see that a trip throughout Eastern Europe is long overdue

ps. finally got to use the new list function too, works nicely :)

My list is pitiful compared with these, and to think I'm supposedly a travel guru. So I've given my opinions they are:

Croatia -twice- favourite place so far, mostly went to coast and islands, highlights Dubrovnik, Hvar and beautiful Vis. Sunshine, Clear sea lapping against rocks with the smell of pine, pretty towns....Also had week in Zagreb staying with boyfriends Grandma- Wow could she cook.

Ireland -Only really saw Dublin through bottom of a pint glass for a weekend but loved it, great people definatly going back sometime would like see countryside and west coast

Greece - package hol by the pool- not my thing but want to go back and island hop round the nicest bits. Got my eye on Santorini.

:)France- French exchange at 14, vegetarian at the time and lost about 10 pounds- bit too shy and awkward back then.
Also these places in France with family as a kid:
Brittany- a lot like Cornwall but thats a good thing,
Dordogne- brilliant, tons to do for kids- castles, caves, canoeing swimming. Nowadays I'd probably appreciate its beauty more too.
French Alps- moaned lots cos my folks were trying to make us go on long walks. I was only about 9. very beautiful though, still remember the cowbells.

Wales- Does it count? Its only down the road but it makes the list longer. lots of rainy holidays being dragged up hills again. Also, outdoor pursuits weekends with school which were great fun. And I once had the misfortune to go to Newport,Gwent- a truly minging town.

Germany- doesn't really count either cos it should be in the "my earliest memory" thread. Just remember my uncle doing magic tricks, a curly stair rail and a lady hoovering.

Ask me again this time next year.....

Well, I haven't travelled much, so here's my pitiful list:

Sorry, there's always one lazy person and it's me again. I've fiddled with Sam's idea a bit and your going to get a barely disguised cut and paste job from the last post

(Generally accepted countries): UK, France, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Monaco, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Austria, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russian Fed, Belarus, Poland, Czech Rep, Slovakia, Slovenia, Italy, Hungary, San Marino, Vatican City, Ukraine, Spain, Andorra, Croatia, Romania, Serbia & Montenegro, FYROM, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Morocco, and possibly one or two others I’ve forgotten.

In addition, depending on how you count them, the other 3 in the UK (Eng, Sco, NI), and an extra as been to both S&M. Much more debatably, you can probably make arguments to count any number of semi autonomous or areas wanting independence such as Lapland, Åland, Euskadi, Catalunya, Bohemia/Moravia/Silesia, Kosovo/Vojvodina, Bretagne, Pomerania, any number of Russian & Ukrainian regions etc. etc etc.

Quoting Lil Liz

Wales- Does it count?

OF COURSE IT COUNTS... I'M DEEPLY HURT AND OFFENDED!!! I am from here and it's gonna be TOP of my list, but I have to agree with you on Newport... (I'm joking, but I'd say it counts... It is its own country... It would be the same as asking if Ireland counted, and you didn't... )

    Sardinia (does it count..? )
France (I've been there twice )

I've also been to a few other places twice and three times, but I wont bother to list them all again... And I'm sure there are a few other places around Europe I'm leaving out, altho I've not yet ventured out of Europe... (I'm not too young, just too broke!) However, I will be visiting Argentina in the New Year... Woooohooooooooo!!
