Thai Language School Bangkok?

Travel Forums Asia Thai Language School Bangkok?

emilyemily has indicated that this thread is about Thailand

So, I'm in the process of getting my TEFL certificate here in the States in hopes that I'll be able to get a job teaching English in the rural region of Isaan in Thailand... however, before I dive off the deep end, I'm planning on taking Thai language courses in Bangkok, but I see so many results on Google and they all SOUND so good (but as we alllll know, not everything is how it appears!) and I just don't know which one to pick.

I'm looking specifically for something in the Sukhumvit area, but anything that's not too far away by Skytrain would also work. I'm just wondering if anybody can give me some sound advice on a good school (or a bad one, so I know where not to go), or even if you would share your Thai language school experience *even outside of Bangkok!* with me so I can have an idea what to expect.

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to hearing your experiences!

Thank you for the reply... but I am 26 years old, with a teaching credential, and not exactly looking to go to an international school for children.

Emily,
I don't know about teaching English in Thailand or learning Thai either, but this website may help.

Assuming I'm allowed to post this link and that you may already be aware of it - but for anything to do with teaching English abroad and many other language resources and advice, it is generally regarded as pretty much an institution amongst the traveling teacher community.
