I have observed, of late, some of the members who were quite active in the various forums getting "Inactive". Two good examples being "Redpaddy" and " BedouinLeo".
Is it voluntary or due to violation of some forum rules, anyone has any idea?

Haha, actually it's one good example, they were both the same person and in both cases that person decided to inactivate himself because he couldn't agree with...well...basically anyone. Man with childish behavior

I believe "redpaddy" was a lady !!

Actually Redpaddy had about 4 incarnations - the last being Leo. He would disagree with someone/something, inactivate his account, decide to respond again which meant creating a new account. They say a zebra can't change his stripes but members can change their behavior. Leo did quite well for some time. Though, it is hard to break old habits once in awhile. As has happened with a few others, he may return with a shiny new name.

This is a response to a now-deleted post by "jimbobbby" (Ooh, but editing this line in apparently made that response show up again. Looks like a bug... Should be gone again soon.)

Hey Paddy/Noddy/Leo/Jib/Bobby/whatever your name is: sit back for a minute there and consider what you're trying to achieve.

We want you to participate on this forum. There's a real feeling of satisfaction which comes from helping people with advice gained from long experience - making things go more smoothly for other people, helping them overcome their fears and avoid possible hurdles. They'll sometimes thank us, but even when they don't take the time for that, we'll know that we're doing good things. And you have an incredible amount of experience, which we really appreciate you helping people with here on this forum, rather than somewhere else.

Yes, really. Why else do you think we played along with your "I was referred to this forum by a friend who used to be a respected member here" lines and painstakingly once again explained member ranks to you, and cheered you on as you once again got the full and respected member titles? We can play along, pretend you're someone new, and appreciate all the good you're bringing. Obviously it's hard to "lose face" by being told that certain things are out of bounds on this forum, and obviously that makes you want to lash out, and in your anger you might feel that all the "powers that be" here are against you. But you're not doing yourself a favor right now. You're acting in an extreme and unreasonable manner, and that's going to both dissolve the willingness of the regular members here who've seen your various incarnations to go through the whole routine again with your next account, and it's going to bring you to the attention of ever more people who weren't really following what happened with you, and had no idea how you were acting out before. Take a deep breath, walk away from the computer, go read a book for a day or two, and let those stupid Moderators who're all against you to their own devices.

And then when you're feeling better, please come back, register a new account, and help some more people. That is worth it, regardless of what you might think of some of us.
