Hi,

We are planning to visit Lanzorate sometime this month. I have heard car hire is best option to explore the place once we reach there. Do we need to book the car prior to journey or hiring a car from airport is enough?

Please advise.

Happy newyear ! :)

Thanks in advance
Krishna

Hi Krishna,

Happy New Year, I hope that you have some wonderful vacations in 2010.

In answer to your question, it is my experience that you are best to book a car on the internet before leaving home. You will get a better deal.

A lot of people that i know have used AutoReisen Car Hire The link for them is http://www.arcarhire.com/car-hire/car-hire.php.

You can book them at the airport, but it will cost you a lot more money. You should have no problem with availability later this month.

Hope this helps.

Booking through your airline might get a better deal. It would also mean less to do when you arrive.

Hi Krishna

Hiring at the airport will be the expensive option: it's too late to shop around. There are lots of websites where you can book in advance, and that gives you all the time in the world to compare prices and all the other important factors. You don't have to pay until you pick up the car. At least you don't if you book here: -snip-.

(Just to make it clear: I do have a vested interest in the site.)

Although this post is a bit old I hope the answer may serve to people who find it searching on the web.

To be able to visit the small towns and beaches in Lanzarote it is essential to hire a car. It is best to weigh up the number of travellers and the number of cases you have, although the cases would probably only be in the car to and from the airport.
It really makes sense to hire a car at the airport as it saves time and also transport costs to and fro.

There are several car hire options in the airport:

www.avis.com
www.hertz.com
www.budget.com
www.europcar.com

all the main companies are there, and many with decent offers.

If you want to save time and money searching you can visit sites that compare prices to all the main car rentals at once, assuring you the best deal.

Try
