Hi Punitha,
Patong is not a great place for children - I took my own a year or so ago and we struggled. If the weather isn't at it's best, there is little to do for them. The beach was hard work as we were constantly pestered by people selling things.
The City hotel must be one of the few I didn't try! We spent an entire day searching for suitable accommodation and eventually decided on the Patong Tower. You can't miss it - it's the tallest building in town (on Phuket, actually) and is almost in the centre of the town. It has many apartments on 18 floors, most of which are owned privately, but some are rented out and are very good quality - clean, spacious and have a separate bedroom from the lounge (with sofa bed). They have cooking facilities and a balcony with a terrific view over the bay.
Hope that helps.
