I will be in tasmania from Feb 22nd to March 5th and really want to get to see a lot of the island. I'm traveling solo but think the easiest way to get around is via car (bus routes all seem kinda pricey!) So im wondering if there is any other outdoorsy backpackers who are gonna be in tassie at this time and feel like renting a car and traveling around together, splitting costs.
I am quite interested in doing these things
Bay of fires
Cradle Mountain (weather permiting id love to climb to the summit)
Lake Saint Claire
and maybe a few other places time depending
Even if someone wanted to just travel together for a few days that would be nice. Im quite into hiking and kayaking and that kind of stuff and my main reason for hitting up tasmania is to enjoy the nature there.
Let me know if you're interested
I wont be much help as a travel buddy as such, but if you need any local information for the places you're headed to over here, i'm happy to help out (particularly the port arthur area).
So if you need help let me know!
hi! i will be in tas from the 24th of feb. and were planning on travelling around(there are 3 of us) also trying to get work there.
were trying to do it the cheapest way possible.

so wether we can work somehting out or even if we catch up for a coffee i can let you know where to go
Hey, are you going to be starting in Hobart and are u looking for work first or to do some traveling? Id definately be up for sharing a car or something with u and your friends for a few days and go and do some part of the state together. Let me know what your plans are! I"m fairly flexible as long as i get up to Lake St. Claire and Cradle Mountain.
If not, than meeting up for a coffee could still be fun. Let me know
Well Nyssa, im from ireland and i was def up for hittin tasmania, im just outside melbourne at the min, whereabouts r u? give me a shout on this, i wud def b up 4 splittin costs for a car.
I am in sydney now. If you feel like coming to tassie that would be awesome I've met another guy through couch surfing who also might be interested - 3 people to split a car would be fairly good i think, even if we just do ride shares and nothing else. But im always up for hiking buddies too. What kinda of things do u want to do in tassie?
