I have just started planning RTW trip with a friend of mine, and would really appreciate any advice from anyone that has done or is doing similar trip. Will book in Jan to leave in summer
London - Rio (overland) Santiago - Auckland - Sidney - Hong Kong - Bangkok - Home
Have some experience of travel, (lived abroad most of life, and traveled Europe extensively)
Please help with any advice!
I used Air Treks to book my flight. It was a little complicated, but they came through better than STA or Air Brokers.

You can travel by train up the east coast of Australia from Sydney to Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. Popular stops along the way are Nambucca Heads and Byron Bay. Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef in the far north are simply fantastic. The east coast is the best side of Australia to spend most time.
Good luck !!!
Bangkok is an excellent base from which to explore Thailand. Head to Khao San Road first. Accommodation & travel information is readily available there.
